A Rare French Kingwood and Ormolu Mounted Cartonniere Cabinet. 

Five drawers to the top with exquisite escutcheons and working locks and key, very unusual double tambour doors to the bottom cupboard, again with working lock and a key. 

Raised on elegant cabriole legs with richly chased foliate ormolu sabots. Wonderful ormolu mounts and inlay. Circa 1860. 

Maison Krieger, founded in 1826 by Antoine Krieger in Paris, was a prominent furniture producer throughout the 19th century. 

The family business remained operational until the early 20th century. Maison Krieger gained international recognition for its high-quality furnishings, winning awards at the 1849 Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris and the 1851 Exposition Universelle in London. 

By the late 19th century, Maison Krieger had become one of the largest furniture producers in Paris, 

With a significant factory located at Faubourg Saint-Antoine. 

The company had a clientele that included renowned designer Francois Linke. 

Pieces by this renowned maker are very hard to find and command high prices.
